How do I get my felony reduced?

Under California Penal Code 17(b), you may be able to request that your current charge(s) be reduced to a misdemeanor, if you were convicted of a wobbler charge. A "wobbler" is a charge that the prosecution can decide to charge a defendant with a felony, or when certain circumstances are present, a misdemeanor. However, if you were convicted of a wobbler, as a felony, then you still may get that charge reduced to a misdemeanor by requesting the judge to reduce it under Penal Code 17(b).

There are many facts and circumstances, that the judge may consider to grant a motion, which includes: the amount of time that has passed since the commission of the crime, whether or not a weapon was used, what injuries if any to the victim, was restitution paid to the victim, the criminal history of the defendant, the reasons why the defendant is seeking a reduction as well as many others.
